Ganymede Insulated Roller Shutter Door
Insulated roller shutter doors offer a viable alternative to the insulated sectional overhead door. They provide insulation whilst retaining the standard roller shutter drive system, which is easy to install and maintain.
The insulated roller shutter door coils up neatly above the opening, and does not encroach or cover the roof area behind the door, whereas a sectional over head door usually requires connection to the overhead roof structure.
Installation is speedy due to the simple design of a roller shutter and keeps maintenance costs low and any repairs to the door curtain are normally less expensive as the curtain is built up from individual lath.
Insulated roller shutter doors are suitable for internal and external openings in a wide range of applications such as warehouses, industrial units, workshops, spray booths, bus depots etc.
We offer two different types of lath for our Insulated roller shutter doors:-
Insuroll

ch individual lath is made up of two interlocking sections held together over their length by the interlocking quirk profile. Each section is 100 mm deep with a twin indented face and is built up together with nylon endlocks to form the complete curtain.
The CFC and HFCFC free polystyrene is inserted into each lath section to provide a “U” value of 0.69 w/m2k and an acoustic value of 18dBa.
Insufoam
The foam filled lath is a double skin profile 
roll-
formed from a single steel section featuring a hot injection polyurethane central core. The infill bonds to the internal face of the section providing strength, rigidity and of course excellent thermal and acoustic values.
The 75 mm deep lath has a “U” value of 2.4 w/m2k and a “R” value of 0.42 m2. k/W and an acoustic value of 21dBa.
Motors
We do not offer manually operated insulated roller shutter doors, so all of our doors are power operated.
The options for power operation are: –
Single phase tube motor- Single phase industrial motor – Both flange (JM Type) and direct drive
- Three phase industrial motor – Both flange and direct drive
Finishes
Both the Insuroll and the Insufoam insulated roller shutter door can be supplied in a standard galvanised steel finish or can be part or fully powder coated to almost any standard RAL or BS colour. (Please check colour availability prior to quotation)
On the Insuroll a popular option is to have one face of the curtain (usually the external face) finished in Plastisol HPS200 from any of the colours shown below: –
On the Insufoam there is a limited number of plastisol finishes available which are colour coated to both faces of the curtain
White, Black, Goosewing Grey, Merlin Grey, Ocean blue, Sargasso Blue, Solent Blue, Olive Green, Heritage Green, Moorland Green, Juniper Green, Van dyke Brown, Mushroom, Aztec Yellow and Poppy Red.
Fully compliant doors
Each Ganymede Insulated roller shutter door has been fully tested to the CPR (Construction Products Regulation) EN13241-1:2003 + A1:2011 by a UKAS accredited testing laboratory and is supplied with a DoP (Declaration of Performance) copies of which can be downloaded within the “members section”.
Each door is also fully compliant to the machinery directive 98 / 37 / EC.
It has been mandatory for the installer of the door to “CE” mark the product to the machinery directive since January 1st 1995.

The curtain of the door consists of steel roller shutter lath, either standard 3” concave lath or the Ultralath commercial slat both of which can be supplied in a galvanised finish or powder coated to any standard available RAL or BS colour
The Ultralath slat has been designed, after many years of testing, to be the most aesthetically pleasing yet secure slat on the market today.

IO Fire Rated Roller Shutters
Fire rated roller shutter doors are constructed from heavier duty materials than a standard roller shutter, has many more fixings for the structure and has slotted holes in all components to allow for expansion should the door catch fire.
The Pyroguard commercial fire shutter is used in applications where the aesthetics of the door is required; areas such as receptions, bar / servery counters and canteens for example require a stylish solution to fire safety requirements.

The most commonly used means of release, the fire relay is linked to the fire alarm ensuring the door is powered down rather than closing manually through the gearbox
When activated the soldered link separates and releases at 64 Degrees centigrade which in effect creates a signal to the relay which in turn powers the door down.
An audio and visual warning is activated when the panel receives a fire alarm signal, the shutter will then start closing after a pre-determined delay (10-240 seconds).
All solenoid release mechanisms are designed to be linked to the fire alarm, the signal required from the alarm is 24 volt, 0.5amps on activation.
This is linked to the fire alarm with the same signal requirements as the manual solenoid release.

The door can be operated via a rocker switch, a key switch or remote control hand held transmitters.
Dependant on the type and size of the door, the roller barrel assembly will be either sprung or un-sprung and manufactured from varying diameter to suit the door with deflection kept to a minimum.
Door specific laser cut endplates of varying sizes and thicknesses to suit the type and size of the door without the “Pepperpot” endplates of other suppliers. Usually finished in Grey primer but can be supplied either electro-zinc plated or powder coated to suit the rest of the door
